This is a tool that can extract relevant details about distribution lists in Exchange environment.
ManageEngine Exchange Reporter Plus is a web-based analysis and reporting solution for Microsoft Exchange Servers. A part of the features offered with the tool are about distribution lists. These details are not available with the native MS Exchange tools. Usually users are keen to be able to find out if distribution lists can be obtained, will it list the members of the list, can unused or inactive distribution lists be identified as also if the distribution list names could be exported to Excel. Finding out inactive distribution lists and export of the list of names seem to be particularly difficult with the MS Exchange tools. This particular solution can offer users exactly what they need in administering Exchange optimally.
It provides a simple access to the distribution list related reports. There are three kinds of reports available that tell you about distribution lists, their members and tell you about inactive distribution lists. These are the “Distribution lists”, “distribution list members” and “inactive distribution lists”. The first report lists all the distribution/ mailing lists in the system and provides distribution group name, group type, group scope, total number of members in the group, email address of the group, owner of the distribution list and who is managing the list. This report provides an administrator the necessary information he should have about the members of a distribution list. With Inactive Distribution List reports, one can trace out lists that have been inactive for a specified time period. It lets the administrator to decide the future of those distribution lists, whether to keep them intact or to delete them. All data revealed through these reports can be exported in Excel of course; but also in CSV, PDF and HTML. This is a very useful admin tool for Exchange management.
